Internet at home.

Again another two weeks since I last posted, although I hope that I can post more often from now on, since we've just managed to get internet at our house. This is a real plus point; now I don't have to take trips to Bingham specifically for internet use. So hopefully having the convenience back again will encourage more regular blog posts!! Life continues as normal here, I'm almost finished another phase of language school. I continue to feel that I am growing in language ability and theory, t...

Weekend trip to Awassa

Continuing to enjoy my new location, settling down well into life outside of SIM. These past few weeks we've been looking for furniture, especially a new sofa and a wardrobe for my bedroom. It has been a very busy week of moving furniture, possessions etc. The house did not come with any furniture so we were responsible for sourcing or buying all of the things that we needed. Johannes, who (along with his wife) I'm now sharing the house with, did a great job of sourcing a fair amount of used furn...

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We have moved on in language school to reading various fairy tales. We've just finished Goldilocks (though the Ethiopian version ends much more happily than any version I remember), and are about to move on to Cinderella. Occasionally, we also have bible stories too, we're also reading the simplified story of Joseph. The grammar in the language is fairly logical, but it is definitely complicated. Although there are relatively few irregular verbs or rules, there are just so many rules to remember...
